Kids Konnected's mission is to provide friendship, understanding, education, and support for the children who have a parent with cancer, or have lost a parent to cancer. When a parent gets cancer, the entire family is affected. Children facing the same fears and similar experiences can be helped by others in a similar situation. Our struggle has been that there are not many good books available for teens that we believe teens will read. Several years ago, we decided to ask the teens in our programs to write down their experiences so we could put a book together and share this with all teens who may feel like they are alone in their experience.
